Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is a native of Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Sergey his father (who died in the year 2019) was a professional ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5 1998. Aryna is the holder of twelve WTA Singles titles, one that was awarded the title 'Grand Slam' at the Australian Open 2023. In doubles, she is the best player. She's won two Majors with Elise Mertens: the US Open in 2019 and the Australian Open in 2021. This year, the Belgian was the winner of each of WTA 1000 and the WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian partner, completing what is known as the Sunshine Double. Four women's teams could have done this feat. In January of 2023 she attained her highest rating in singles. The 23rd day of August in 2021, she shot up to number two in the ranks. She climbed up to the top of the rankings for doubles in the following year, following winning at Melbourne. That made her the second Belarusian tennis player to have success on the court. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach from 2018, until the season finished in 2019 and also for a short time at the start of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September 2020. At the time of her retirement, she's been coaching by her host countryman Antonio Dubrov. Her heroes are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
